Balance Bar Bare Sweet n'Salty Honey Peanut!

I can’t believe I used to look down upon “health” bars. Yes,
there was a time, not too long ago where I had the attitude that these bars are
useless. It’s got similar nutrition of real food (maybe even less for that
matter), isn’t as satisfying as “real food”, and is probably laced with unknown
chemicals anyhow. And to top it all off, if I really wanted a chocolate bar,
wouldn’t I just go for the real thing and satisfy the craving? But let’s be
honest. Sometime, we really don’t have time to sit down to a gourmet meal or
slice up some apples and dish out some peanut butter for a sustainable snack. No,
we work, we get stuck in meetings/school/traffic, life can happen. After trying
a slew of these bars, I might add that they actually taste better than some
conventional candy bars, and the fact that they have some extra nutrients is a
plus. The new one I am really digging now is Balance’s Bare Sweet n’ Salty
honey yogurt peanut. The title itself grabbed my attention because I am definitely
a “sweet n’salty” kinda girl (chocolate covered pretzels have notoriously been
my weakness). Each bar has 210 calories, 9g fat (3.5 saturated), 23 g, carbs, 3
g fiber, 11g sugars, and 13 g protein with a bunch of vitamin and minerals. So
yes, better bet I would say than a Kit Kat. It looks a lot like a Luna bar with
roasted nuts, oats, and “rice-crispy” resembling nuggets with a lightly sweet
coating on the bottom. I actually really enjoyed it! Not too chewy, and although
the ingredient list does look like a chemistry definition, there was no noticeable
chemically taste. It lived up to it’s name being a cool blend o saltyness and
sweetness. The one caveat I had was that it was a bit dry for a bar, however
the creamy coating on the bottom did help that so all in all, a good “go to bar”
when you don’t have time for an elaborate snack.
