Better n' Peanut Butter!
September 3rd, 2006 by hungry waif

Peanut Butter isn't the worst thing in the world nutrtionally, its filled with healthy essential fatty acidsm protein, and tastes awesome. But, its sooooooo calorically dense, as in two teaspoons have about 200 cals! I mean thats like four and half bowls of fiber one cereal! But who can resisted the peanutty goodness of creamy old fashioned peanut butter. Well some people decided to do something about the guilt we all have when indulging in peanut butter and created Better'n Peanut Butter. According to their site the product is an, "all natural, delicious peanut butter spread with 85% less fat and 40% less calories than regular peanut butter". Calorically, this product gets my thumbs up for being only 100 calories per two table spoon serving. However, i am not all too pleased the the nutrition they boast as it DOES have a fair amount of carbs (13 grams) and less protein then regular peanut butter. Taste? this ranks pretty high. Its slightly sweeter than regular peanut butter but still really yummy. So is it better? Eh, pretty close, but i think real peanut butter ain't that bad, so i'll just use it sparingly.
Damn it... where do you get all this stuff??? The closest thing I've found to this is soy nut butter, which is still only a 20 calorie improvement, and I'm too cheap to buy the damn stuff, because I don't even know if it's any good. You Californians and you superior products to Oregonians...
Peanut butter has 200 hundered calories in two TABLESPOONS, not teaspoons.
A.K.A. "Peanut Wonder"
FYI, this product is also known as Peanut Wonder, at least here in the midwest. I like it and can sub it for anything PB related.....my husband thinks it's not close enough and too sweet for his taste (and he eats a fair amount of diet-conscious foods). I think if you really love PB but do have guilt hang-ups like I did it's at least worth a try. Kind of spendy but isn't a lot of this stuff?!
Personally, I Thought this
Personally, I Thought this stuff had a rubbery texture to it and didn't even come close to real peanut butter. Plus, it’s much less nutritious for you and it has weird ingredients. Stick to the real stuff, its actually very healthy for you as long as you limit yourself to 2 tablespoons a day
