Boar's Head Skinless Premium Turkey Slices!

My dad's girlfriend's daughter started school last week, and then i noticed more buses clogging up traffic when it hit me, kiddies are back in school.  Most colleges (and my culinary school) dont start til late September/early October, but i though for this week I'd feature "brown-bag" friendly products and ideas. Slashfood.com made a really funny list of foods loathed to eat during recess (i totally agree with him when he mentioned Jell-O and "mystery meat").  Although most reading this site are not in grade school, its good to have on the go meal ideas that can survive the hustle and bustle, even if we dont spend out lunch our sipping juciy juice and swinging on monkey bars.  I had pretty unusual lunches as a kid, but when i was in High School and started packing my own lunch, i pretty much had a staple entree, turkey sandwich on whole wheat with grainy mustard, cucmbers, lettuce, tomato, and a good quality turkey.  What do i mean about good quality, i mean a lean, low sodium, no nitrate, and no filler cold cut.  I was lucky that Boar's Head was promoting itself at my local grocery store and i got to try their skinless turkey.  A 2 oz portion is a mere 60 calories, .5 g fat, and 12 g protein. Sometimes, a good hint to no their are little to no fillers is to look at the carbohydrate count. 1 or 2 g isn't bad, more means they may have added syrups and sugar to it.   but this had none, and it was 47% lower sodium then the usual boars head cold cut. whats great is that it tasted deli-icious! Seriously i could eat this plain or like in the picture as part of dinner (with some yummy sides of course).  Now you wont find this with the oscar meyer bologna, its usually at the market's deli counter and your probably going to have to ask them to slice it for you. But actually that makes it very easy if your worried about a sering size. since they charge by weight as them to divide it into 2oz portions (cause i dont know about you but i think a scale on my kitchen counter is a little OCD).   So if your brown bagging it, its great in whatever sandwich/wrap you like, or even plain (if you have it plain i suggest maybe heating it up a little bit if possible, it tastes like a little piece of thanksgiving that way)!
