nutritious junk
Braggs' Liquid Aminos
September 29th, 2006 by hungry waif

Alrighty, sorry about that last post it just really hit me. anywho, i wont quit bloging, this is MY blog after all and "hungry waif" aint copyrighted! so let me introduce you to a great soy sauce alternative. Soy sauce usually isn;t a total diet disaster but it can be high in sugar sometimes and usually VERY high in sodium. Braggs' liquid amino's isn't exactly soy sauce but it sorta tastes like it. It has a rather distinct flavor but its a good, tastly one. Its a pretty good deal too. I bought a 16 oz bottle about three months ago and i am not even half way done with it, and i use it almost daily (a little goes a long way). i use it in stir frys, shirtaki noodles, dry meat, wraps, and even on salads. Definetly something to "brag" about (pun intended).
Soy sauce doesn't really have much sugar at all. Unless it is like "honey soy sauce" -- maybe you are confusing it with teriyaki?
I love Bragg's. Sometimes its hard to find though (not all the grocery stores around here carry it) But once I do find it, the bottle lasts a looong time, just like you said. Very yummy and adds lots of flavour to things. I think I might try to get a bottle today... havent had one around in awhile and I kind of forgot about it!
i haven't heard of this before...definitely going to look for it. i love soy, but i hate the high sodium content (even the lower salt version...).
Hmmm, what's the nutritionals on Braggs? Soy sauce is usually 10-15 cal a tablespoon......
The bottles look unappealing. And amino acid isn't a good name for anything. I've never seen it before either. Is it at Trader J's?
Thanks for the tip, girl!I have been wondering forever if there are "healthier" soy sauces..and here we go!I love Bragg's generally but had no idea they carried soy sauce. Wonderful.
