I think cereal is a great thing. I don’t do frozen dinners when I’m in a time crunch. No, when I’m in a time crunch, five minutes on high is an extra five minutes I would rather use eating and enjoying my food as opposed to getting it down as fast as possible. Plus, most frozen entrees are reminiscent of airplane food (although this concept is becoming extinct, most airlines don feel their passengers due to budget cuts). So this is where cereal comes in.
I frequently read the eatlikeme blog on self magazine’s website. In case you don’t know about it, it is written by a registered dietitian so she often gets many questions on her comments section. I recently saw that someone was mentioning how they always hear how oatmeal is a healthy staple but that they simply don’t care much for. You know, I sorta agree although I’ve seen people really deck their oatmeal with some truly unique flavors.
Call me a werido, but the Kashi commercials motivate me to workout. Its funny really, i was at the gym a while back and i saw a commerical for kashi (about how their company workers are active and happy people) and for some reason, it made me kinda happy. They have a new one of this like 70 year old guy who runs marathons!
I know theres been a slew of cereal reviews. agian, i am simply craving them and i see nothing wrong in that (especially when most i buy are rather nutritious!). Guess what, this cereal, Kashi Vive in graham cracker vanilla, is geared to be a "wellness" cereal. Kashi boasts "we created Kashi Vive™ with lots of fiber, probiotic bacteria and specially chosen ingredients to help you care for your digestive system".

Its amazing how big Kashi has come. I remember when they first started making cereals and such when i was about 14. They only had a few cereals to their name then, but now, they make everything from granola bars, hot cereals, and even frozen entrees! Well i am going to review one of their first products which probably among their simplest products but according to me, probably one of their best nutrtionally and taste wise! Their puffed cereal is not airy like puffed rice or puffed wheat, and is definetly more filling. It has a denser texture than most puffed cereals and an interesting but yummy flavor. Its only 70 calories per cup with 1 gram of fiber, 0.5 grams of fat, and 0 grams of sugar (woo hoo). If your craving a sweeter cereal, i suggest blending in some splenda packets and a sprikling of cinnamon. Another cool feature to this cereal is that it doesn't deflate in milk! even corn flakes get soggy quickly, but these puffs hold up their crunch nicely when submerged in milk (or soy milk). I hope all these new kashi products won't inflate the ego of this seemingly down to earth company, cause their basic stuff, like their puffed cereal, is awesome all on its own!
