nutritious junk

You know there are a few things that put me in a better mood. Kind like the song from "The Sound of Music", I have a few "favorite things" which don't make me feel so sad.  Personally, whiskers on kittens send chills up my spine and snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes piss the hell out of me (hey, I'm from L.A. where its 75 and breezy all year round). Brown paper packages tied up with strings make my suspicious of a uni-bomber or anthrax.

A few weeks ago, my roommate and I were brainstorming for foods to lure people into the boutique where she works out. We thought enticing people with treats would make them come in the store and hopefully purchase the expensive albeit beautiful clothes. Problem is, we live in L.A. where a size 4 is huge (I'm verging on plus sized in LA!). So we realized that what a lot of food companies are doing is miniaturizing everything so they seem more innocent. I mean, i agree, I'd imagine one would feel less guilty eating a mini cheesebuger (aka, slider) then a whole one.

Since my advanced baking class in culinary school where we had to compare a made from scratch devils food cake and a boxed mix, I’ve snubbed most mixes. Infact, I didn’t even buy the Trader Joe’s truffle brownie mix (as delicious as it sounds). Since traders is just about the most awesomest grocery store, they gave out generous samples of these truffle brownies. .
