Fiber Gourmet Short Cut Fettuccine!
December 17th, 2007 by hungry waif
Before i begin this review, i'd like to appoligize the the less than frequent posts this past week. my cooking finals begin monday so I've been super stressed and busy. Anyhow, i am making up for it. So the ever-so-nice pr folks from fiber gourmet sent me a package of their new short cut fettuccine. When i first recieved it, i thought i alread got somthing similar the first time around they sent me samples but i saw that this on has more fiber. So each serving is 2 oz (dry) and is 130 calories, 1 g fat, 20 g fiber (yowsa), 2 g sugars, and 7 g protien. Impressive yes, but i bet your thinking it tastes gritty and bland. Well i tasted it naked (no sauce) and yes, naked, it is a bit bland but all pasta is. I had some with a nice pesto i made and it was actaully pretty close to the real thing, you probably could have fooled me into thinking its barilla or somethng. This one is short cut so its not optimal for fork spinning but probably nice for chicken noodle soup or maybe a casserole or baked pasta dish. I haven't seen them in stores but you can definetly buy it online at http://www.fibergourmet.com/. O, and dont think i like these cause they were free for me, this company isn't paying me squat and i am not one for free advertising. Seriously, these are pretty decent, give them a try.
why do you eat so many
why do you eat so many "light" or "diet" foods? You''re not on a diet...
what's wrong with normal pasta??
i dont eat a lot of "diet"
i dont eat a lot of "diet" foods at all, i try them for this website, and i try them because its always nice to get healtheir versions when you dont need to compromise taste. This is a good source of fiber and protien, which is lacking in most normal pastas. I eat normal pastas when the occaision strikes, the best is probably de cecco.
