Nutritious Creations Chocolate Chip Cookie!

The other day I went to Penguins to get my weekly rations of Carb a Whey.  After getting out of my car I realized I was in the mood from some kind of carby sweet.

Mrs. Smith's Heavenly 100 Chocolate Cake!

I love baked goods.  I’m what you’d call a baked good whore.  I’ll do anything for a cookie, cake, donuts, brownie…well maybe not anything.  I refuse to paint my body neon pink and jump into an ice-cold vat of Jell-O!  Well, now that we’ve gotten that out of the way we can talk more about my love for sweet, wheaty treats.  Cookies and brownies are pretty easy for me; I’ll eat any of them.  But cake is harder.  I’m very picky about my icing to cake ratio and I’ve never really found one that suites me.  Yes, I realize that all the foods I’ve just listed, in their natura

Tastykake Sensables Chocolate Chocoate Chip Cake!

While in Boston I paroosed the grocery stores in the same way I would paroose a clothing store.  I didn’t actually need anything but damn if I wasn’t going to try to find something new and different, at least to me.  I came across many items that went all over the country and I could have no problem finding at home.  Then I saw the stuff of my parent’s childhood, Tastykake.  I really hope someone knows about Tastykake because it always seems to be a big thing when my family goes to Boston or Philly, which is the hometown of both of them.  Tastykake are like those Little Debbie treat

Glennys Chocolate Chip Brownie!

I’m a chick, and as a chick I must have chocolate.  Though I don’t really like chocolate all by its lonesome I will pretty much inhale anything that has it in its ingredients list.  Unfortunately, a lot of the time, with chocolate-laced foods comes a colossal amount of calories and fat.  Because I’m a whore for new products I was all yippy ki yay when Glennys, the makers of soy crisps, came out with brownies.  They’ve now been out for a little while and they are no longer just in specialty stores, I found mine at 7-11.  Glennys has jumped on the 100 calorie bandwagon with their 10

Carb a Whey from Soft Serve Depot!

You scream, I scream, we all scream for…hopefully you know the end. But there’s one thing we don’t scream for, and that’s for calories. It seemed that all was lost trying to find low calorie and tasty ice cream that was a little more filling. That’s when I was introduced to Carb a Whey. Low cal soft serve in like a zillion different flavors.

Trader Joe's Chocolate Chip Cookies!

Remember the days of Sesame Street and the big blue guy always chomping
away at cookies? Well, because of Americans proneness to obesity and
the hope of catching them young, Cookie Monster has changed his diet to
healthier fruit and veggies. Who am I to poopoo this newer development
of trying to instill healthier eating habits into the minds of youths?
But seriously…Cookie Monster? Leave it to Americans to try and let a
blue fur carpet with eyes and a hand up his bum show children the way
to a healthy lifestyle. If only they had looked a little further into

Creme Brulee!

I realized i havent really been giving many recipes lately which is a shame because i love cooking, anyhow, be prepared for more recipe posts. heres a great one for creme brulees. If you ever wonder what else you can do with the very healthy Greek yogurt, this creme brulee is an excellent way to utilize it. Plus, you if your making this for others, they'll think your a culinary genius (because when i think of creme brulee, i think of some french chef with a blow torch).

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 16-ounce tub of fat-free Greek yogurt*
  • 1/2 cup strawberry or raspberry preserves
  • 4 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 strawberries cut into slices

Spoon 2 tablespoons of preserves into the bottom of 4 4-ounce ramekins, then fill ramekins with Greek yogurt. Sprinkle brown sugar on top. Jello Fruit Passions!

ahh jello, that thing that looks like blubber but suprisingly is a common diet dessert. To be honest, i was never a jello fan (the gelatin, not the pudding, i am crazy about pudding!). I make my own jello at home using gelatin mix, crytal light or kool aid, and fresca, i prefer it to conventional jello. but jello recently came out with these new "fruit passions" which is basically little tubs of jello with chunks of fruit inside. Not a very original idea, i've seen this in many pot lucks, picnics, and recipie books, only not made into little individual cups, more like giant strange molds. Anyhow, i tryied the strawberries and peach cause those are my favorite fruits. Each cup has 70 calories (other flavors vary), <1g>

Carb a whey (made at home)!

For those unfamiliar with Carb-a-whey, it's a really low calorie soft serve usually sold in frozen yogurt shops. BUT.....my friend recently purchased a soft serve maker (a small one, mind you, from cuisinart) and so we found it a perfect oppertunity to purchase the carb-a-whey mix online and try it making it ourselves. Heres the nutritional deal: carb-a-whey zero has only 5 or 6 calories per oz (depending on the base you buy), made with whey protien and lactose free. I am OBSESSED with it when i buy it from my local frozen yogurt shop. Sometimes, they come in ass tasting flavors like "egg nog" and "pumpkin pie"(seasonal stuff and yogurt just dont mix if you ask me). But some AMAZING flavors are the chocolate peanut butter, chocolate pecan turtle, heath bar, and butterscotch. I was so excited to actually make it myself, hoping it would taste like the kinds i buy from the shop. I ordered the chocolate mix with the peanut butter flavoring. i must say, i was very mad at the company i bought this from (softservedepot.com) because it tooke them four weeks!!! peanut butter was out, according to their email, so i got it late....grrr. anyhow, i made it, which was actually a lot of fun, and it did indeed taste like the kind i buy, only maybe a little softer. Its fun, but the flavors they sell online are limited so i like going to the store and exploring new ones. If your interested, visit http://www.carbawhey.com/.

Healthy Choice Chocolate Fudge Bars!

before i delve into my review, let me just apologize for not posting as frequently. I am a little stressed with school and i need to move from my current residence soon so i am a little nuts right now with all this stuff on my plate (litterally and figuratively). Now, for these fudge bars! Well there are a slew of diet-y and healthier frozen novelties out there and you might expect these bars are nothing special. Well, contray to other fudge bars (like tofutti or good humor's sugar free fudgesicles), these arent so watery and sooooo creamy. i swear its like a milkshake on a stick and for a mere 80 calories each with only 1 gram of fat (which is very suprizing as these are super creamy and rich!). They're reasonably priced at most major markets, but you are better off getting a bunch of em at costco. These have no gross aftertaste and to tell you the truth, tastes not the much different from the full fat versions.
