gum is very haute right now. I just read in about three other fitness and health blogs that wrigley's is starting this kick to get people chewing more gum because some studies showed that people who chewed gum were less likley to mindlessly nosh on candies and snacks in between meals. I chew gum because if i dont, its so long manicure (which i get once in a decade because i am so embarrassed that my nails are chewed, yes chewed, not clipped, so short that there's barely any nail left to polish). Its werid, its like i always need an oral fixation.
Gum is complex, its kinda like wine (only way cheaper and doesn't make you tipsy). Theres endless different kinds with different flavors, textures, sweetners, and most importantly, their lasting capacity.
