Genisoy Creamy Ranch Soycrisps!

I recently saw a lay’s potato chip commercial and thought to
myself, “Gee, I don’t remember EVER liking lay’s potato chips! Even as a kid,
when the world didn’t know about trans fats and there was even the WOW olestra
chips, I never liked em!”.  But not to
say that I don’t like crispy carbs. They are a food group, in my personal pyramid.
I love pretzels and most crisps like popchips and tortilla chips. In fact, I have
a little love affair with Doritos ranch chips.
My roommate accompanied my marketing trip last week and grabbed a bag of
Genisoy’s Ranch flavored soy crisps. She exclaimed, “O god, I haven’t had these
for a while, I forgot how much I love them!”.
So when we got home, I couldn’t help my self and found my hand in her
region of the pantry and tried them. So before I dish about the taste, I like
to get the dirty work out of the way and give you the low down on them, nutritionally:
17 crisps (which had 3.5 servings per bag) has 120 calories, 3g fat, 15g carbs,
2g fiber, 1g sugar, and an impressive 7g of protein. Thumbs up for the
nutrition, carb like chips with that much protein! Taste wise, they are even
more impressive. You know those Doritos ranch I love so much, I just might
cheat on them and have a little affair with these soy crisps. They are
perfectly crunchy and smothered with that creamy ranch flavor. It might be a
little salty for sensitive pallets, but I like the ranch flavor-ness. With all
that protein, these are kinda more satisfying than your standard cripy snack.
Watch out Doritos, you have quiet the competition.
