I stare upon this Hershey's item, in shock that i actually purchsed it. Why? well, hershey's never really got into my house as a kid (except when returning from trick or treating) because with a Beligan dad, our family knew better than to bring this so-called "chocolate" into our refined palattes. I am giving Hershey's some lee way here because its not so much the chocolate, its a chocolate covered pretzel which may cover up the bad chocolate hershey's is known for (at least in my snobby chocolate palette hersheys is pretty low, iam sure most of you think its fine, but i cant help but be a chocolate snob). Each bar is 100 calories (followinf the pack and joining the 100 calorie trend clique), 4 g fat (2 of which saturated), 10 g sugars, a 1 g protien. Um ok i know this is boasting being a 100 calories pack and all, but this is not healthy. First ingredient: sugar! Second: Enriched Flour (ok, that aint so bad, but let me continue)! Third: Vegetable Oil...and then a little further down we get partially hydrogenated soybean oil which is trans fat. anyhows, this isn't to replace a tub of yogurt or a handful of almonds, but i am guessing this was made for you chocolate cravings. i know this is only 100 calories, and you know what, these are tiny and that doesn't suprise me. You dont get a bar, you get like these two 1 1/2 inch pretzal squares covered in hershey's. I must say i love chocolate and yogurt covered preztels. I used to steal them from those grocery store bins all the time (still do, but lets keep that on the DL so grocery store mangers wont start posting wanted signs for the yogurt covered pretzel stealer). So they were pretty good, but man for 100 calories, i could totally do better. For example, get a good quality unsweetend chocolate with a high cocoa content, melt it, and dip some of those snack factory flat pretzels and freeze. Or use any pretzels you like. Anyhow, making you own 100 calorie anything is probably cheaper and yummier anyway, besides, does the earth really need the extra litter?
