Egg beaters southwestern!

I like to use egg beaters every so often, but they are basically egg whites with some chemicals to make them yellow. Ahh, but the clever folks at egg beaters came up with "spiced" up version in a southwestern flavor. at only 30 calories per 1/4 cup with 6 gm of protien and no fat, this is a good, lean protien source. But the taste: well i like egg beaters so that component is there, but this southwestern twist is merely a onion-y and slightly peppery undertone that i could really barely taste. Heres what i suggest, get regular egg beaters and spruce it up yourself with Ms. Dash or some other creative seasonings. this product is just kinda pointless.

Heavenly Desserts' Chocolate Meringues!


Meringues are usually not associated with being calorie land mines since they're fat free. But that doesn't give you a pass to stuff you mouth with em cause instead of fat, they have loads of sugar. Heavenly Desserts produces sugar-free chocolate meringues (sweetened with Splenda) and has such a measly amount of calories (only 12 calories per serving). They also come in other flavors like cappucino, vanilla, and strawberry. They taste OK, but not fantastic. They dont taste diet-y but they are so airy and light that its like your eating sweet air or something. If you crave just a little sweetness without being full, maybe these are good. But if you want something filling, this wont help much. You can buy them in some diet type stores or online (http://www.heavenlylowcarb.com/index.shtml). FYI, these aint cheap either, so maybe consider getting something with a little more umph if your low on dough that will satisfy a sweet tooth and fill you up a bit more.
