Kashi Go Lean Crunch!

I appologize for the redundant cereal reviews, i promise i'll do other stuff not cereal related next time. But i had to post about Kashi Go Lean Crunch because they are giving it away on their site! MMMM....free food! but ya know, my soyjoy bars were free, and they tasted like clay, so i figured the company was desperate to get these gross things out there since their taste alone wouldn't do the trick. But no, Kashi people got the right idea, because one taste of this cereal, and yes, you actually would go out and buy it. Nutrtionally, its not terrible. A heavy 53 gram (1 cup) serving is 190 calories, 3 grams of fat (no saturated fat thank god), an impressive 9 grams of protien, and 8 grams of fiber. Pretty good, although the sugar content is a teeny bit high (13 grams) but its no where close to other conventional cereals out there. Plus, the protein and fiber content is so impressive, i am beginning to forgive the slightly high sugar. Anyhow, they taste just GREAT. its like their puffed kashi, only clustered and extra crunchy and sweet (dont worry, not too sweet). I could definetly eat this as a snack instead of popcorn or on top of yogurt or baked apples. Come to think of it, i really like the Kashi company, i haven't tried one of their cereals that didnt taste good. And when i heard they were giving out FREE cereal, i logged on right away and got my free box. Go get Go Lean Crunch!

Mmmm, I love Kashi! Their regular Go Lean cereal is pretty awesome as well. Good choice, and free is always good, I had one sent to me too.

Heck yeah! Kashi GLC is awesome!

Kashi Go Lean Crunch tastes

Kashi Go Lean Crunch tastes great. I ate it every day for about a year. I had terrible GI problems that year. Lots of gas and tummy noises. I went to the Gastroenterologist and had a bunch of tests to see if I was intolerant to something. Then my stores ran out of Crunch, so I bought a wheat flake cereal instead. Instantly my GI problems cleared up and have not come back for a month. I guess I can't tolerate Crunch cereal. Bummer! It is so good. I have seen 1 other blog that mentions this "side effect".

OMG...Gassy!

My fiancee and I ate the Kashi Go Lean Crunch and we were both blown away...literally...from all the gas! These were booming farts that lasted the entire day and through the night. We have never experienced anything like this with any other food. It was so startling that it prompted me to google the topic (which of course is how I found your post). I guess it's a great option if you're feeling constipated.

I agree...

I Googled the topic as well because I had the same problem.  The cereal is great, but tears my stomach to shreds!  The same happened when I had low-quality whey protein shakes.  I switched to an isopure protein powder and it took care of the problem.  I'm guessing some of us don't have the stomach for certain types of protein.  Also, if you like the Kashi, you should also check out Nature's Path.  They have a great line with a ton of different choices.

-also, you should try the Kashi Roll! and the Kashi Go Lean Crunch bars. Both are great, I think. But with flavors like Chocolate Turtle and Chocolate Peanut, what do you expect?

Kashi GLC is Great! I sprinkle it in yogurt....my kids love it on yogurt, too.
My favorite quick recipe: take a whole grain tortilla wrap, spread some peanut butter on it, sprinkle raisins and GLC on top. Roll up and slice. Yummm....so good and good for you.

I tried a few bites of my sisters, but there seems to be a little bit too much sugar in there to me. It is really good though. I like the honey flax flavor too.
