Since my advanced baking class in culinary school where we had to compare a made from scratch devils food cake and a boxed mix, I’ve snubbed most mixes. Infact, I didn’t even buy the Trader Joe’s truffle brownie mix (as delicious as it sounds). Since traders is just about the most awesomest grocery store, they gave out generous samples of these truffle brownies. .
Salads are wonderful. I even have them in small bowls as snacks with a really good dressing and maybe some almonds and sliced ham or bacon. And I’m sorry, a salad is not a salad unless if has dressing. Otherwise, it’s crudités, or a clearly someone on diet (eye roll). I reviewed Galeo’s Caesar dressing which I am a huge fan of, so I was excited to review the dijonaise. A tablespoon serving is 19 calories, 2g fat, 0.5g carbs, 0.5g fiber, and 0.5g protein.
I think I love peanut butter so much because I never had it as much as most American kids. You see, my Israeli mom spread hummus and tahini on my sandwiches, and my Belgian dad outlawed “conventional” chocolates like Reese’s. Infamously, I’m also a die hard chocoholic (anybody who knows me on facebook has evidence!). So how convenient that Peanut Butter and Co made Cark Chocolate Dreams.

I think cereal is a great thing. I don’t do frozen dinners when I’m in a time crunch. No, when I’m in a time crunch, five minutes on high is an extra five minutes I would rather use eating and enjoying my food as opposed to getting it down as fast as possible. Plus, most frozen entrees are reminiscent of airplane food (although this concept is becoming extinct, most airlines don feel their passengers due to budget cuts). So this is where cereal comes in.
