Orowheat/Arnold's Light Bread!

hungry waif's picture

hey guys, about the nasty comments i ve been recieving i am simply going to brush them off, i wont delete them because as a journalist for my university paper, i am a firm believer in freedom of speech. i am moving on, and if you cant deal with my first grader spelling, then sorry but i dont have time to proof read all my posts and give them to a copy editor. Anywho, let me move on by introducing you to my diet secret that i think is under-rated. that is the amazing Arnolds/Orowheat light bread. At 40 calories a slice (and not a teensy thin slice some other brands offer) you get an impressive dose of fiber (about 3.5 grams). Whats so great about the bread, besides that its tastes good, is that its so versatile. You can go savory and make an assortment of different sandwiches with it or garlic bread, or...you can go sweet and use it to make cinnamon toast (with some butter spray cinnamon, and splenda), replace it instead of cake in a trifle (with berries and fat free whipped cream), or even make mock blueberry muffins by folding in some blueberries and pure vanilla extract and putting it on the skillet to warm up. Its usually in the bread aisle but its also available on amazon. This bread puts atkins to shame!

Hey Hungry Waif, I think your blog is awesome! I love HG and I never thought you were copying it. It's nice to have someone who knows what it's like to have an ED review different diet products. Ignore the nasty comments, because this blog is great.

I can never find the super low cal bread like this when I go to the store. Maybe I'm not looking in the right place. This doesn't taste like Roman Meal or Pillsbury does it? because I could never imagine using those for anything besides mindless chewing.

Um, you know, it takes like 30 seconds to run spell-check. I'm not bothered by your "first grader spelling," but I'd think YOU would be, just as a matter of personal pride.

It was so nice of anonymous to leave his/her name when bashing you. Courage anyone?

To Island, I usually find these types of breads on the top shelf or the bottom shelf in the bread. They are not with the other products in the same company line.

What about HFCS? I used to eat Orowheat's Dill Rye bread...but learned that it contains that terrible high frutose corn syrup. No one should ever eat that..it's just as bad for you as Trans Fat.

Exactly. HFCS is the reason I no longer buy Orowheat products. I have switched to the Ezekiel's Sprouted Grain breads because they don't contain anything the body doesn't need.

HFCS

I agree HFCS is horrible. There is a Google add on this sight for Yoplait yogurt and HFCS is one of their ingredients.  Demand better from food companies and let them know you will not purchase their product.  Hungry waif as an editor of your school paper, you should be more aware of how you spell and your punctuation.

You do realize this is a

You do realize this is a three year old post?

There is nothing wrong with HFCS. If you want I can go into further detail as to why it's not harmful ,but I doubt anyone will even see this.
