Quaker Chocolate Mint Mini Delights!

hungry waif's picture

The one plus to having my baking classes this term at my culinary school in a whole other campus is that its super close to a huge supermarket.  So when i have some downtime, i do some scoping out of new products to review.  I was really excited to try the new flavor of these quaker mini delights! i admit, i wasn't doing back flips over the other ones (i review those as well), but chocolate mint?! i had to try it. like the other pouches, each are 90 calories, 3.5 g fat, 14 g carbs, 6 g sugars, 1 g fiber and i g protien. I dont really like the nutrtionals because the ingredients d list some hydronated things. anyhow, these are not bad and definetly better than the orignial chocolate flavor. the mint is nice but i was hoping for a "thin mint" type experience out of it and cleary, its still a little rice cake with a hint of chocolate and mint. That being said, its not very filling. I suppose if you want a satidfying snack, an apple would do, but these are way too airy. If you crave a little mint dessert type thing, maybe this would be a nice choice. Dont think i'll buy it again though, however, i am curious to try the other new flavor, peanut butter!

Weird, chocolate mint, huh?

Weird, chocolate mint, huh? I think I'll stick with my junior mints, they are trust-worthy taste-wise.

PB Mini Delights

Yeah I tried the new mini delights flavors and I was really disappointed. I had the cinnamon before and they are wonderful and sweet, so when I saw the peanut butter I about died right there in the aisle. Unfortunately, they are not even worth the 90 calories. They taste like... whats the word... oh yeah, air. If you really want peanut butter, stick to a tablespoon of the real thing!

Choc. Mint

I had one of the packages today - I personally thought they were GREAT - especially with my diet hot chocolate!
