Sausages by Amy's: Chicken Chipotle Pepper!
July 21st, 2007 by hungry waif
When i am living at home (like i am doing now while taking a summer break from college), i tend to do the marketing. But i rarely do the Costco shopping cause that involves heavy lifting of mass quantities of foods which a little person like me simply can't handle on her own (that, plus i had surgery on my arm last summer from a car accident so i lack strength in that arm). Anyhow, i leave Costco to my dad. And although i live him, when i tell them to buy me things, he usually gets the wrong brand or something just goes wrong and its not what i want. I didnt ask for sausages, but he brought a gigantic pack of these gourmet chipotle chicken sausages. Nutrtitionally, i was pretty impressed since most sausages can be loaded with processed meat and lots of saturated fat. Each nicely sized link is 90 calories, 4.5 g fat, no sugars, and 11 g of protein. Great for a lean protein fix. And ya know, the taste: MMMMMMMM so good! i heated it up, but i saw my dad eating it cold right out of the package and gave him a weird look and he was like, "what?! its good cold!" so i tried it and you know what, it was GREAT cold! not really too spicy and not greasy. Very flavorful (chiptole pepper really came through) and probably great with some scrambled eggs, on a pizza, in a nice bun, in jamablaya, soups, stews, or the way my dad does it, cold right out of the fridge!
I live in the Chicago area
I live in the Chicago area and the favorite sausages by amy here are the apple & gouda cheese., We buy them by the gross at Costco and eat them with everything. they're prettier than aidells sausages. tsausages by amy also makes a cranberry and cognac but not at our costco. Turns out they also make dim sum and empanadas - and a few shops sell them here, but you can get them on-line at sausagesbyamy.com.
