Simply Asia Soy Noodle Bowls!

hungry waif's picture

I love cup'n noodles. i used to have them as a snack when was about 12. i used to come home from school on a cold winter day, make myself a cup (but pour out those pathetic veggies on top first) and watch saved by the bell (hey, it was the 90's). Anywho, nowadays, i know way too much about whats in cup'n noodles to actually eat it. BUT, thanks goodness for Simply Asia's soy noodle bowls! they are perfect for a snack (only 60 calories each with 5-7 grams of carbs, depending on the flavor you choose). They come in three flavors, but triend the mushroom ginger and it was FANTASTIC. what really impressed me was that it wasn't as salty as i thought it would be. Not filling enough for a meal, but at 60 calories, its just a fraction of a snack! Great to have actually before a dinner to prevent you from over eating cause your starving. If you want even more noodles, try adding a bag of shiritaki noodles. Fastforward about eight years and i make myself a bowl of these soy noodles, and indulge myself in a more sophisticated T.V. program, like the Daily Show (i NEED my daily dose of John Stewart, ahh, sigh...)

mmmm sounds delicious! thanks for the heads up!

Is it 60 calories for the bowl or x amount of the bowl (just a serving)? Either way great find, and they look delicious!

can you get these online, as I cannot find them around me, but have had them and they are sooooo goooood

same problem here, though I only checked Target and Trader Joe's so maybe I should try a little harder XD. Where did you find them, hungry waif?

I'm going to have to disagree on this product - it is a very small handful of rubbery soy-noodles, that taste very cardboard-ish. not like ramen at all :( basically, it tastes like it is worth 60 calories

well ive seen them at SOME Vons (or otherwise known as safeway)and Trader Joes. but you can buy them online from the simply asia website. They are good, but i am not sure if its worth the shipping costs unless its free shipping that is...

While you can find these at World Market, I recommend staying far, far away. I had an awful experience with the Soy Noodles bowls. They don't taste like much and aren't helped by the fact that they smell like burning tires.

I think they're delicious, 'though I like the noodle & sauce trays more than the noodle soup bowls. and they're vegan, so it's win-win

Nice Alternative but with aftertaste

I've tried the szechuan garlic and I think it's a pretty good for what it is. At 60 cals I wouldn't expect it to taste like the decadent stuff! My biggest complaint was the garlicky aftertaste....could've been toned down a bit. Since I abhor anything to do with mushrooms I wish they would come out with some different flavors to try!
