Walden Farm's Maple Syrup!

hungry waif's picture

I though i might do a few more Waldens because i think those REALLY are hit or miss items that are sorta on the pricy side hence its good to read about them before you decide to shell out. Okie dokie, so since my last review of the asian dressing was, eh, so-so, i thought id let you know about a GREAT Waldens product: Maple Syrup! Ok, now keep in mind its not as thick as normal maple syrup (or nearly as sticky, cause damn, real maple syrup is like crazy glue!), but its just as sweet and maple-y. It workd great on waffles and french toast, but i love it on toast, oatmeal, wheat bran, Fage Yogurt, even cereal! Hungry Girl review it and poo pooed it, but i honestly havent met anyone that hasn't raved about it and i absolutly love it. Even my non-weight consious friends liked it and didnt even notive the difference. its about $4.50 which isn't a huge dent but i think its tasty and worth it!

Oooooo, I'd love to try this! Where have you been finding the Walden's products? I can't seem to locate them..... :(

I buy them in major local grocery stores (like albertsons, Ralphs, etc) but a lot of specialty diet and health food stores carry them too. also, many stores sell them online as does amazon. just google it and see what comes up.

how can you eat so many unnatural products

Anonymous, I think the question would be more properly phrased as "How can you eat so many unnatural products and stay SO THIN?"Hah. Plus, the name of the blog is Nutritious JUNK. =]

bah, sorry! ;)She's thin because weight is based on calories in vs. calories out. But, I think it's more important to emphasize health from whole foods rather than a product made from god knows what.

hey, no fighting! i am just willing to try everything, natural is such a vague term in this day in age. But i am more than willing to try new things and as long as i am alive after i eat it, i think i'll be fine.

Honestly, folks...I think HW eats more natural, whole foods than many many people in our population. She stresses moderation and nutrition with the no-nonsense attitude that is hard to find in the diet world. A little artificial enhancement once in a while as an extra NOT a base may not be IDEAL (whatever that means) but it is more than ok.

Maple Grove Farms as alternative

It pained me that I didn't like Walden's syrup but I just couldn't do it. An alternative that works much better for me is Maple Grove Farms of Vermont's sugar free low calorie syrup. Granted, there's 25 calories per quarter cup, but that's infinitely better than the full-on syrup. Just wanted to put it out there as an alternative for those who can't quite deal with Walden's syrup!

I love this syrup. End of

I love this syrup. End of story. :)
