One of the things i dare to do in the name of review is try those chemically questionable products. Case in point, Walden's infamous line of "calorie free" goods. A yet again i spotted a new walden calorie free spread, their peanut spread. I actaully like it that they didn't dare to call it peanut butter because a calorie free peanut butter IS NOT peanut butter. anyhow, i like a few of walden's other products because they replace their very sugary counterparts like syrups. but peanut butter is actaully kinda healthy anyhow, so why replace it. anyhow, i was curious so i decided to taste it anyhow. The consistency is spread-able, but more like a marshmellow fluff spread, not sticky like peanut butter. The crazy thing is, it doesn't taste chemically, but its not sweet. It hints of peanuts but not overly so. Not bad for something daring to call it self calorie free, but not sure if i could eat this without toast or fruit (where as i could eat peanut butter off the spoon). Maybe this would be nice to add to a dressing mixture with some soy sauce, ponzu, and mirin. anyhow, its ok, but i wouldn't go out of my way to buy this, stick to all natural peanut butter.
