Wasa Crisp n' Light Crackers!
November 30th, 2006 by hungry waif

I travel a lot, and its not always easy to find my tried and true high fiber, low calories breads and crackers when i go to visit my grandmother in say, Belgium (where ill actually be going towards the end of december!). BUT, somehow, Wasa is universal! almost everywhere i go, i see it! and its nutritionally harmless (20-25 calories per slice for the light versions, but other versions arent that much more) although not an all star (pretty skimpy in the fiber dept). Its not good as a meal, but a great addition to almost any meal. Whether breakfast with some smoked salmon or low fat cream cheese, to a nice side with a soup, or even with tuna or egg white salad. Its crispy and crunchy, not gritty and not as light tasting as rice cakes. Plus, they are generally cheap and last longer than bread! It helps me stay away from the tempting rolls and pastries from the bakery just under my grandmother's apartment and lets me eat the infamous Belgian waffels (cause after all when in rome...or in my case, antwerp...)
