Westbrae Unsweetened Ketchup!
February 13th, 2007 by hungry waif
I was missing a good, dearly loved condiment of mine that died with a bunch of the other "low carb" products that were discontinued (cause most of them were terrible, but this one, i swear, was great). it was Heinz's One Carb ketchup, ketchup basically sweetened with splenda instead of sugar and only 5 calories per tablespoon (vs ketchups 15-25 calories, depending on the brand). it tasted like the real thing and I smoothered it on my boca burgers, veggie dogs, i even had it mixed with my tuna salad! anyhow, i missed it so this got me to buy simple unsweetened ketchup which has the same nutritionals as Heniz's. But Westbrae is pure ketchup, or actually pure tomato. It taste like that too, maybe a little thiner than tomato paste but thats basically what it was so i was slightly disappointed. not to worry, i simply mix in my own splenda (or stevia, although i dont like it in coffee, its actually really good mixed in to sauces!). This maybe be tricky to find, i got it in a health food store, but ive seen it in the organic food section in major supermarkets as well. That whole low carb trend pissed me off too, but they got rid of some really good stuff when they sunk that ship.

I like Heinz's One Carb Ketchup also, and I have good news for you! They just remarketed it as Heinz Low Sugar Ketchup so check the store again!
