nutritious junk

Yoplait Fizzix

Parents always try to get their kids to eat healthy stuff without the kids being overly picky or turning their nose. They put spongebob on carrot bags, they have that whole subway "fun fit meals" with apples and raisins, and even Amy's makes kid friendly frozen meals. Today, i am taking an attempt at another invention, fizzy yogurt tubes. I guess its sort of like carbonated yogurt in tube? yea, i know it sounds kinda weird, maybe gross (but hell after that chocolate pancaked encrusted sausage on a stick, this seems decent).  Lets get the nutrtional info out of the way:  Each tube has 80 calories, 2 g fat, 2 g protien, 11 g sugars and vitamins A and D and calcium. Triple Berry Fusion was the flavor i sampled.  I know you must think this must be strange, but i actually enjoyed this! yea, i cant explain the fizzy part, its almost like a slight tart undertone to the berry sweetness of the yogurt. Kinda refreshing, portable, and a dairy serving (which i admit, i tend to forgo when it comes to snacking, i like the fruit, veggie, and grain food groups when i snack, so this is a good alternative).  Its portable, and the tube thing is a bit strange i admit, but sorta fun and reminds me of being a kid (even though at my petite-ness, i always get mistaken for one! seriously, it was really bad in my senior year at high school cause i STILL had braces and i got pulled over cause the cop thought i wasnt sixteen when i was 18 at the time!).

Hm, this is interesting! I have done the go-gurt things before (they are excellent frozen) and do need a nice calcium snack, perhaps I shall have to try it out. Don't worry, when I was in 11th grade people thought I was 13, how insulting!

frozen, o i totallly forgot

frozen, o i totallly forgot i could do that! i remember a friend of mine in high school would freez yogurt cups for "real" frozen yogurt, but with these tubes i think they could certainly be interesting frozen. Yes, i need to add more calcium-y things because i naturally gravitate towards fruit, veggies, or pita chips when it comes to snacking. Since i dont do well with cheese (always have, cant expain why, trust me as a kid i ordered pizza no cheese, no sauce, i dont mind the sauce nowadays but i have always disliked cheese), string cheese is out so i am left with pretty much yogurt for the calcium fix. but i'll try freezing them.

I dislike cheese as well,

I dislike cheese as well, though I have found that I prefer the soy/vegan cheese to the real stuff... people think it's nasty, but I just think that it gives the calcium without having the huge blast o' cheesiness I dislike.
