Yoplait Light Smoothie!

hungry waif's picture

I ve been on a hunt lately of calcium. I hate milk, alway have, and cheese for that matter, but i dont mind smoothies or yogurt. So i thought i might enjoy yoplait's light smoothies. Nutrtionally, its what i look for, rich in calcium, 90 calories per bottle, non-fat, and 3 g of fiber. I am still recovering from danactive, so i was a little hestiant before trying this. It was not bad at all, but it just tasted like watered down yogurt, and i rather just eat the yogurt. It was strawberry flavored, but i couldnt find a signifcant strawberry in there! maybe i prefer "chunkier" smoothies i guess. Anyhow, it was portable and i give them props for that because its a good pre-workout drink (thats what it served me in my case). Overall though, i'd say skip this, go for the light'n fit smoothies or better yet, make your own.

i highly recommend cascade fat-free yogurt. it's so much creamier than any other fat-free brand, and even the fruit flavors are pretty low-cal (110 calories for 6 oz) compared to others. plus, it's totally natural.

i also like plain skyr, which is actually a type of cheese, but similar in texture to greek yogurt. it's really good with a little bit of lemon juice and a dash of cinnamon. it has a good amount of calcium and TONS of protein.

Yeah, the cascade is my

Yeah, the cascade is my favorite as well. Also, Kroger stores have a nice form of "carb master" (though I don't care about carbs) that is 80 calories, really smooth, and double the calcium, plus more calcium than a lot of the "light" yogurts are. I enjoy it a lot.
