Yves Tofu Dog!

hungry waif's picture

Ya know, i love hot dogs of all sorts. Beef, turkey, chicken, tofu, you name it. My grocery cart usually has a variety like maybe a pack of fat free oscar meyers, a ball park fat free smoked white turkey pack, and usually a vegitarian kind like smart dogs. Why do i eat so many hot dogs? well they are a quick go-to meal/snack that if purchased correctly, is a good lean source of protein (but do watch out for out of this world nitrates and chemicals). But ya know, this kinda sucks for me cause i was thinking about it and hot dogs are so un-ladylike. I mean some foods, like burgers, can be kinda sexy (heck didn't paris hilton did that racy Carl's Jr where she ate a biurger bigger than her face that was too hot for tv).  but theres something about hotdogs, i dunno its just not something i would choose to eat on a date or something.  Anyhow, i did see these dogs and thought i would give this meatless alternative a chance. Each of these pups has 45 calories, 1 g fat, and 8 g protien.  Smart Dogs are good but granted, they taste NOTHING like hot dogs which i dont really mind as long as they taste alright.  Same goes for these dog. They taste ok, not terrible but nothing like hot dogs.  they do remind me a lot of smart dogs, but these have a very slight spice to them.  I'll still be loyal to my smart dogs, but i suppose i could from time to time enjoy these again, maybe if they are on sale or something.  I usually eat meat hot dogs lin buns or my themselves, but i actually like to cut up the vegitarian kind and mix it with scrambled eggs, with some baked beans (for a lighter version and "franks'n beans"), or even as pizza toppers.  I hope my future husband doesn't get turned off by my unsexy hot dog love, or maybe i'll just marry oscar meyer.

Hey, who can say hot dogs

Hey, who can say hot dogs are unsexy? I remember hating the real ones as a child, so maybe I should try out the Yves or Smart Dogs if they don't taste the same, the nutrition is great!
